The Village Commons of Rhode Island

The Village Common of Rhode Island (TVCRI) is a volunteer-based nonprofit that provides practical assistance and social/cultural activities to help older adults remain engaged, connected, and independent as they age in their homes. We accomplish this through a dedicated team of friendly volunteers - many of whom are also members - whose lives are enriched by assisting others. Wood River Village is looking for your help!

Village driver's play a vital role in helping our members remain independent and connected. Many older adults can no longer drive and rely on volunteers everyday. Providing rides is a friendly, flexible way to support neighbors while enjoying meaningful connections. 

Drivers choose which rides they accept, and each request includes details about timing, destination, and mobility needs. TVCRI also provides liability support and insurance guidance that works alongside a driver’s personal auto insurance.
