Animal Control

Mission
Our goal as Animal Law Enforcement is to bring awareness of adequate care to our Town Animals. Our mission is to investigate animal cruelty, help and care for our town strays and return lost animals to their owners all while enforcing our Town Ordinance.
The Animal Shelter is responsible for the safekeeping and adoption of pets in the Hopkinton Community.
We provide community outreach through our volunteer program and an annual rabies clinic.
Rabies Clinic Information:
Hopkinton and Richmond have decided to merge our rabies Clinic this year. This year, it will be held in Richmond at the Richmond Public Works office located at 51 Buttonwoods Rd. $10.00 (Cash Only) per vaccination on April 12th, 2026 from 9AM- 11AM.
Please know that the clinic is open to anyone. If your dog or cat is up to date, please bring your most recent proof of vaccination to the clinic to ensure a three-year vaccination. If you do not have a valid rabies vaccination, your pet will be issued a one-year vaccination.
All cats must be in a carrier. All dogs must be on a leash.
If your dog is not friendly, please find a volunteer or the closest Animal Control Officer so that we can make accommodations for your pet.
Both Towns will also have their Town Clerks in attendance for Town Licensing. Hopkinton Town Licenses cost $8.00 per dog. If your pet is already up to date, please take advantage of the weekend availability to have them licensed in the Town.
Please give us a call if you have any questions: 401-377-7785
