Presidential Preference Primary Information:
The Presidential Preference Primary is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2026. All eligible voters will vote at their regular polling places which will be open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
- District I/Precinct 1401 – Ashaway Elementary School, 12 Hillside Ave., Ashaway
- District II/Precinct 1402 -Hope Valley Elementary School, 15 Thelma Dr., Hope Valley
- District III/Precinct 1403 – Hope Valley Grange Hall, 1116 Main St., Hope Valley
To determine your polling location and to view a sample ballot voters can utilize the RI Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ri.gov under the Elections & Voting heading.
Early Voting will be held on August 20, 2026 through September 7, 2026 at the Town Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m and September 8, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Bring a valid, unexpired photo ID to the polls.
Acceptable photo ID’s include:
RI Driver’s License
U.S. Passport
State of RI or U.S. government-issued ID card
U.S. military ID card
ID card from an educational institution in the U.S.
Government-issued medical card
Native American Tribal ID card
RI Voter ID card

In order to register to vote in Hopkinton, you must:
Be a United States citizen
Be a resident of the Town of Hopkinton
Be at least 16 years old (You must be at least 18 years old to vote)
Not be in a correctional facility upon a felony conviction
Be advised:
In order to cast a ballot in an election, a person must be registered to vote at least 30 days prior to the election. Voter registration forms should be printed, completed, and mailed or delivered to the Hopkinton Town Hall located at 1 Town House Road, Hopkinton, RI 02833. Emailed forms will not be accepted. The April Chariho Budget Referendum and the June Town Budget Referendum are held in the Hopkinton Town Hall Meeting Room, 1 Town House Road, Hopkinton, RI 02833.
